Ellie Richardson

Ellie Richardson is a Clinical Shoulder Specialist with over 18 years of experience in MSK, orthopaedics, and sports rehabilitation, working across the NHS, private practice, elite sports programs, and national governing bodies. She specializes in atraumatic and traumatic shoulder injuries, post-op rehab, and return-to-play testing. Academically, she holds a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, a Postgraduate Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine, and an MSc in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Practice. She is an active researcher, with publications in BMJ Sports & Exercise Medicine, contributions to key textbooks, and participation in international consensus studies on the kinetic chain in shoulder rehabilitation. Ellie is a respected lecturer and speaker, presenting at major conferences such as BESS, Therapy Live, and Liverpool Hope’s International Shoulder Rehabilitation Conference. In 2024, she launched her own Shoulder Day course across the UK and will co-teach with Dr. Jeremy Lewis in 2025. As a former elite track cyclist, representing Scotland, Great Britain, and Spanish Trade teams at international events, she brings a unique athlete’s perspective to rehabilitation. Her passion lies in helping individuals optimize performance and return to activity with confidence.
