Inhoud

There is overwhelming evidence that exercise therapy can reduce low back pain and disability. However, there is no consensus on what exercise or dose is best to achieve this. Because every patient with low back pain presents differently, targeted and individualized treatment is necessary to achieve the best outcomes.
Exercise is a medicine - using the right type, at the right dose and at the right time will yield better clinical results. But how is this best achieved in clinical practice?

In this Powertalk, Thomas Dekkers will outline a clear framework that clinicians can use to optimize their exercise programs for low back pain. The framework draws on extensive research from numerous fields including Motor Control, Strength & Conditioning and Functional Training, blended with Thomas’ extensive clinical experience.
The framework is designed to be used directly in clinical practice, and the Powertalk contains lots of real life patient examples to show how it can be used. At the end of the talk, participants will understand how to deliver effective, clinically-reasoned therapeutic exercise programs that can be tailored to each individual patient.
