Inhoud

This course offers a comprehensive review of the most recent evidence-based approaches to physiotherapy management of endometriosis and endometriosis-associated pain (EAP), framed within a biopsychosocial model. You will explore the essential role of the pelvic health physiotherapist as part of a multidisciplinary team, gaining a deeper understanding of how endometriosis is linked to inflammation, peripheral and central sensitization, and the interplay with viscero-somatic function.

The course will also delve into the effects of endometriosis on bladder and bowel function, sexual health, musculoskeletal performance, and overall quality of life, including participation in work and exercise. You will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to conduct key assessments and implement management strategies that foster a personalized, holistic, and effective treatment plan for patients with endometriosis.

In addition to pain education, the course will cover manual therapy, exercise therapy, and strategies for managing flare-ups. Emphasis will also be placed on addressing sleep and fatigue issues. Practical, hands-on information will be provided to ensure that you can immediately apply the acquired knowledge in clinical practice, enabling you to optimize patient outcomes from day one.
